Barrington Hills : ウィキペディア英語版 | Barrington Hills, Illinois
Barrington Hills is a village located about northwest of Chicago in the U.S. state of Illinois. It straddles approximately over four counties, Cook, Kane, Lake, and McHenry. The population was 4,209 at the 2010 census. The Village of Barrington Hills was incorporated in 1957. ==Overview== The rural-suburban village is part of the greater Barrington area, and many affluent residents live there on large estates within commuting distance of Chicago. There is a minimum zoning restriction on building houses, and both farming and horse raising are allowed. The zoning ordinance of the village was adopted in 1963, but the existence of equestrian farms antedates the village by decades. Barrington Hills is home to Hill 'N Dale Farms, belonging to Richard L. Duchossois, owner of the Arlington Park racetrack. Horizon Farm, formerly owned by Bill McGinley, was acquired by the Cook County Forest Preserve District in 2014 and Fitzgerald's Bank Note Farm. The community's identification with horses can be seen in names such as Broncos and Colts for school teams, stores catering to saddlery and riding outfits, and subdivisions with street names such as Steeplechase and Surrey Court.
